Pablo Gamallo Otero (Vigo, 1969) is an associate professor at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and has a wide ranging research experience internationally in key areas relating to the processing of natural language.
PROJECT
The project will propose a new paradigm for machine translation that is different from the present. It will allow the processing of syntactic and lexical information using advanced big data techniques.
The aim is to develop a system capable of translating expressions with a high level of ambiguity. The results of the project will be applied to the development of a website translator for English phrasal verbs, which are ambiguous and whose meaning may not be extracted from their components.
