PROJECT
The aim of this project is to determine the influence of organic pollutants (OPs) on marine bacterial communities at gene level (which basic cell functions are the most affected by the presence of OPs), at the community level (which bacterial groups are more sensitive to chemical pollutants and which are more resilient), and at the ecosystem level (which ecosystem services mediated by bacteria are most affected by OPs and what components of OPs may be modeled by the bacteria) in polluted (Mediterranean, Blanes and Barcelona) and non-polluted (Arctic and Antarctic) coastal waters.
