BIO
María José Ruiz Acosta (Seville, 1967) is an associate professor of Journalism II in the Faculty of Information Sciences at Universidad de Sevilla.
PROJECT
Her project consists of an investigation into the journalistic work of Spaniards who were exiles in London during this time, and how these writers soaked up Anglo-Saxon liberalism, as evidenced both by their contributions to London dailies and by their own books.
Her work investigates in detail how this group of Spanish publications influenced Spanish public opinion of the time, not only in terms of editorial content but also in terms of the modernization of formats, sections and content, fostered by the new Anglo-Saxon journalism.
