BIO
María del Mar González Nogueras (Madrid, 1977) is a assistant professor at the Mathematics Department of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She received a doctorate from Princeton University in 2004.
Her thesis director, Alice Chang, describes her today as ‘a rising star in the area of partial non-linear derivative equations in geometric analysis, and is quickly becoming a leader in her area.’
She has carried out postdoctoral work in centers of great international prestige in the field of mathematics, such as the Paris XII University in France, the University of Berkeley, USA; the University of Texas at Austin, USA; and the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, USA. In 2009 she joined Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya, where she worked until she took up her current position in 2016.
PROJECT
The project researches into geometric analysis, studying the interaction between partial differential equations and geometry. Among her mentors and collaborators are mathematicians of outstanding importance, such as Luis Caffarelli and Chang herself.
