Josep Pijoan Mas

Josep Pijoan Mas (Barcelona, 1973) has a PhD in Economics from University College, London. He is a professor of Econoimcs at Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros de Madrid and researcher at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London.

‘Development, investment and structural change’ proposes a new explanation for economic growth and development and aims to help understand these two processes in emerging economies.

Its threefold aim is to: a) document exhaustively the relationship between the investment rate and the process of process of development; b) investigate the possible determinants of changes in the investment rate with respect to the level of development; and c) analyze the role of the investment rate in structural change.
