José Miguel Adam Martínez (Llombai, Valencia, 1975) is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and is a professor at the university’s Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología del Hormigón.
His reserach is on the construction, pathology, rehabilitation and monitoring of building structures and extreme events.
PROJECT
The project aims to prevent the successive collapse of critical facilities such as hospitals, schools or public buildings, as occurs in situations of terrorist attack, vehicle impact, explosions or severe fire. For this purpose, he will provoke a failure in a real building and combine a numerical model based on experimentation with a broad parametric study. The corner columns are a key element, but less studied in this area.
