José Apesteguía Garcés

José Apesteguía Garcés (Pamplona, 1972) is a full professor of economics at Universidad Pompeu Fabra, research professor of Institución Catalana de Investigación y Estudios Avanzados (ICREA) and associate professor at Barcelona GSE

The aim is to construct a model for individual decision-making in economics that overcomes the limitations of the standard economic model (where the decision-maker never commits errors and uses a single ranking for the preferred alternatives) and takes into account the systematic deviations produced in empirical applications.

The challenge is to incorporate into this model the possibility of errors in decision-making and of variability in choice, so that it is sufficiently flexible for being empirically tested and may serve as a basis for a new economic theory.
