BIO
José Álvaro Perdices Torres (Madrid, 1971) has consolidated a reputation in Spain and abroad. He has taught at a number of American and Spanish universities.
PROJECT
His project ‘Negro y luz’ (Black and Light) consists of a film essay, with images and audio, together with a series of photographs. The film was completely shot using the works and galleries of the Prado Museum when it was closed for the night.
The aim is to identify the fragments of the works that survive darkness. In the lack of lighting, which gives form to the world we know, painting becomes light.
