BIO
Ida Mauro (Vico Equense, Naples, Italy, 1980) is associate professor at the Department of History and Archeology at Universidad de Barcelona.
Her research has focused on the different political and cultural aspects of the history of the Kingdom of Naples in the 16th and 17th centuries.
PROJECT
In the project, Ida Mauro will study the forms of direct communication between local communities, with which the subjects supplemented the actions of other institutions (such as viceroys, governors and higher councils), asking to be able to present their pleas directly to the monarch.
The study also aims to illustrate with a historical background some current concerns, such as demands for greater citizen representation in complex political kaleidoscopes such as the European Union.
