BIO
Guillermo Mínguez Espallargas (Seville, 1981) is a Ramón y Cajal researcher at Instituto de Ciencia Molecular, Universidad de Valencia. He has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) and works in the field of molecular magnetism. In particular, he researches changes in magnetic properties through the absorption of gases.
PROJECT
The project now receiving funding aims to prepare new synthetic magnetic crystalline materials, with internal cavities that confine gas molecules. This means there can be more interaction between the gases and the material, thus achieving a modification of the magnetic properties, and increasing the selective absorption of gases These new materials are of interest as magnetic sensors in energy and environmental applications.
