BIO
Florencia Cavodeassi Madarro (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1972) is a Ramón y Cajal researcher at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (CSIC). Her research, first in London and now in Spain, has been focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate the formation of the eye during the embryonic stage.
PROJECT
Through the project he will investigate in greater depth the processes that give rise to the pigmentary epithelium, as the malformations in this layer that covers the retina are the origin of disorders such as microphthalmia (reduced size of the eyeball), anophthalmia (absence of eyeball) and coloboma (lack of ocular tissue in some parts of the eye).
