Elvira Navarro Ponferrada

Elvira Navarro Ponferrada (Huelva, 1978) has published a number of novels translated into English, French, Swedish, Italian, Turkish and Arabic, which have obtained awards such as the Jaen Novel Prize and FNAC New Talent. Elvira Navarro’s project (the title of the work is still to be decided) is a set of short stories that examine the construction of identity and romantic relationships through a great variety of characters and situations.

The author aims to deal with the different types romantic relationships of those whose education and upbringing leaves them with a baggage of beliefs that are of no use to them, but to which they cannot give up, and therefore generate contradictions that may be impossible to resolve.

She deals with ‘characters obsessed with therapies, alternative medicine, psychological and psycho-genealogical analysis, personal ads and philosophical though seen as self-help.’
