BIO
David Moriente Díaz (Madrid, 1971) is associate professor at the Department of Audiovisual Communication at Universidad Internacional de Cataluña.
He is a graduate in the History and Theory of Art and a PhD in the History of the Cinema. His training has been interdisciplinary, including the history of architecture, the history of the cinema and cultural history.
PROJECT
In the project ‘The cultural history of disciplinary architecture in the 20th century in Spain’ Moriente will study the relationship between penitentiary establishments, from the 2nd Republic to the contemporary transition to democracy, the contemporary architectural context and collective mental models.
The goal is to grant to this ‘uncomfortable heritage’ (which eludes the tools of the history of art) the relevance that it deserves as a potent shaper of collective identities.
