Carmen Álvarez Lorenzo (Santiago de Compostela, 1970) is a professor of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Technology at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. After three years of postdoctoral studies in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, she returned to Spain in 2001. She has been a full professor at the university since 2011. She has taken part in more than thirty projects, many of them international and in collaboration with industry. She also has 11 patents to her name.
PROJECT
Her project aims to develop contact lenses that can be used for the local prevention and treatment of ocular pathologies associated with diabetes.
