Carlos Angulo Barrios (Madrid, 1974) is an assistant professor (I3 researcher) at Instituto de Sistemas Optoelectrónicos y Microtecnología (ISOM), and the Departamento de Tecnología Fotónica y Bioingeniería (TFB).
PROJECT
His project is based on a conventional Stotch tape that contains diffractive elements (nanohole matrices) at its ends to couple and decouple light between a light emitter and a photodetector, with the tape itself acting as a flexible wave guide.
The diffractive elements are incorporated into the tape by the simple method of transfer of recently developed nanometric patterns.
