Blanca Doménech Casares

Blanca Doménech Casares (Madrid, 1976) is a graduate in Dramaturgy and Theatrical Science from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid. Her works have been performed on the stage in Moscow, London and New York.

Her proposal is a play inspired by science and neurology that takes as its starting point the project launched in 2013 by the U.S. Government to map all brain activity over the next 15 years.

In an attempt to imitate the mysterious mechanism of the brain, ‘Luz y sombra’ (Light and Shade) (provisional title) is a fragmented history revolving around the city of New York and what appear initially to be unrelated stories. However, subtly drawn interrelationships begin to raise questions on human beings and the role of neurology in contemporary society.
