Antonio Jesús Cruz Martínez (Jaen, 1976) began his artistic career at the age of six under the tutelage of his father, and continued his training in the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música ‘Victoria Eugenia’ in Granada, where he received the highest grades and the Extraordinary Prize on concluding the Advanced Level at 19 years of age. He continued his studies in Madrid with Leonel Morales and later with Guillermo González.
Among the awards he has obtained are First Prize at the International Piano Competition ‘Composers of Spain’ by unanimous decision of the jury, and Special Mention as Best Classified Spanish Participant; First Prize at the 6th National José Roca Competition in Valencia; as well as numerous awards in Spanish and international competitions.
PROJECT
The project consists of a series of recordings on CD of contemporary music that reflect the multicultural reality of Spain.
This grant will finance the launch of the first four volumes, dedicated to the Basque Country, Madrid, Andalusia and Catalonia, including works by Luis de Pablo, Gabriel Erkoreka, José Luis Turina, César Camarero, Juan Cruz Guevara, Iluminada Pérez Frutos, José Río-Pareja and Joan Guinjoan and other composers.
The project aims to be ongoing and the idea is to record a CD for each region over the coming years.
