PROJECT
This project analyzes the role of communication in political activism on the Internet and its capacity to transform democracy, specifically based on an analysis of the following questions:
- The relationship between the conventional media and political activism on the Internet, to calibrate whether changes have taken place in the paradigm of political mediation.
- The emergency of new information agents (alternative digital media and citizen journalists) linked to activism and its capacity to produce and disseminate new political discourses and promote social change.
- The new dynamics of creating interest and the public agenda in the context of the social media and their capacity to transform the dynamics of the public sphere and democracy.
- The organization of monitoring and supervision processes boosted by activism on the Internet and its democratic consequences.
