Andrés Jerez Cayuela (Murcia, 1977) is an assistant attending physician, university professor and researcher at Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biomédica of the Servicio Murciano de Salud/Universidad de Murcia.
PROJECT
His group is studying chromosomal alterations, acquired genetic mutations and genome methylation in patients with leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, which are key to understanding the development and transformation of these liquid tumors. According to the Assessment Committee, Jerez Cayuela is an emerging scientist with a great clinical reputation, whose project is of great interest for leukemia and the mechanisms for repairing DNA.
