Adelheid Holl (Zwettl, Austria, 1969) is a scientist at the Institute for Public Policies and Goods at Spanish National Research Center (CSIC) in Madrid. Her research is into how and why economic activities are not distributed geographically in a uniform fashion, and the role played by transportation costs and economies of scale. It uses geographical information systems to analyze economic data with very detailed spacial references.
PROJECT
The aim of this project is to analyze the direct effect of the distance of a company from a freeway has on its productivity, taking into account that this freeway may have increased the business density in the area, which involves an indirect increase in productivity.
